Denton-based Home Textiles Firm, Portfolio Home Offer Youngsters Opportunities in Government Backed Kickstart Scheme

Leading Home Textiles Supplier, Portfolio Home is creating seven job opportunities as part of the Government’s Kickstart scheme to get young local people back into work.

As part of the programme, employers will support six-month paid placements for those aged 16-24 receiving Universal Credit.

Roles currently open for applications include Junior Developers, Marketing Assistant, Junior Graphic Designer, Warehouse Operatives and Administration Positions. The company hopes the scheme will help enable young local people to build confidence and lifelong skills providing their first important steps on the career ladder.

The government unveiled Kickstart last September in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Anyone who is interested in applying is encouraged to contact Lynn Lock, Director of Learning at I Am Moore who is responsible for recruiting applicants for placements.

Lynn commented: “Unfortunately, over the past twelve months, the global pandemic has made it extremely difficult for young people to gain employment and the necessary skills needed to be successful in working life. We’re thrilled to be able to help young people and working alongside Portfolio Home, these paid job Kickstart Scheme placements will support successful applicants future employment prospects.”

To apply, applicants are encouraged to speak to their Job Centre Plus Work Coach and Lynn Lock at I Am Moore; lynn@jaynemooremedia.com.
